My wife has a free flight to the US (from a previous cancellation by the airline). I'm looking for some inspiration on where to go and what to do. We've done a few fly drives out across the East Coast and have visited NY/Vegas/SF/LA/Seattle/Grand Canyon and a few bits inbetween. Ideally a city break in November.

Florida has much to offer and some really good restaurants and chocolate shops. The Holiday Inn near Seaworld is reasonable and is adjacent to a Bone Fish grill restaurant which serves some real treats.
Ideally placed for many attractions.

San Diego's quite nice - plenty to do for a mini break.
i hear boston is good
If you can go a bit earlier, New England is wonderful when the leaves are changing colour. Could start at Boston and travel round a bit.
Boston is good but it can be a bit grim in November.
New Orleans
Another vote for Boston from me. Chicago is also a fab city to visit
