What Awful Role Models Mrs Vardy And Mrs Rooney Are.

This is what "social media" has done to Society.
Why should any celeb's WAG get any air time at all?
It's bad enough when the celebs themselves sound off about topics (like potato crisps for example) they know no more about than Joe Public.
Are we so desperate for "entertainment" that we have to wallow in such superficial nonsense ?

I disregarded the 'Digital Spy' posts because it's hardly a beacon of objective journalism.
However, the Guardian piece was food for thought, and it painted a seriously uninviting picture of what it means to be the wife of a famous footballer.
I can only imagine that young women who aspire to be Wags are of a similar mindset to those that have a vague and unformed desire to be 'famous'.
In exactly the same way, they either have no idea how horrible the reality can be, which is likely, or they simply choose to think it will be different for them, which is unfortunately unlikely.

DTC - // Andy, ask Minty her view on this, having been a Wag to some Einfart and 'Knickers off Ready when I come Home' player in her past - she has some pretty good opinions on how 'floatingly false' these two supposed dominas are. //
I am sure if Minty wishes to offer a view on the thread she will do so, and not if she doesn't.
She certainly doesn't need me to invite her views.

Gosh is this still running... the WAGS i was in contact with in my time were not so "out there" as Social Media has grown and "influencing" is much more common place and I suspect the motives of wannabe WAGS are quite different in these times.. however I can confirm that there is /was a cosmetic veneer to the lifestyle.. and some are more demanding of attention than others..there was always the backbiting and competition regarding fame/money/clothes/who knows who/who goes where/parties etc but the majority of ladies were quite down to earth and stoic in so much as "they knew their place" in both the football world and WAG pecking order... the players always had to come first and your behaviour was always tempered with that in mind or else you would be told in no uncertain terms by the club... but times have changed and these days the WAGS have their own identities and careers closely associated with that fame..as well as the pressures from Social Media.. in my time a good old get together with a bottle of wine and general moan/ whinge about things was enough to keep the air clear and most ladies grounded..
