I’ve just had to pop into supermarket to get a couple of things and they had practically sold out of bottled water(I was just looking for a tiny single bottle as I was so thirsty) and when I looked around I couldn’t believe how many peoples trolleys were full of the great big multi-packs of 6/8 big bottles. Even at the till all 3 people before me had at least one of these big packs. Couldn’t believe how popular it was.
So how many here buy bottled water??
I have a friend who used to work at one of HM's nuclear establishments. Just for interest one day they compared the radioactivity of Perrier water wit their tap water - the Perrier was many orders of magnitude more radioactive than their tap water.
I've only drunk bottled water on two occasions when the local tap water (which is tested) was found to be unsafe to drink and bottled water (which is not tested, so not guaranteed safe) was supplied.
When bottled water was promoted everyone became too precious to drink tap water. I don't buy bottled as there is enough plastic in the environment without me adding to it. Had a friend stay last week and I gave her some of my sparkling water that was made with the Sodastream. She preferred it to the bottled sparklings that she has bought in the past.
According to my parents, when i was younger i was never away from the tap. I remember joining the army and being stationed just outside Nuneaton in the Midlands. It took me an absolute age to drink the tap water there on a regular basis. It was awful.
bottled here, M&s, again the taste issue on tap water. It's one of those things, I think, of town some rural as in they add fluorine to town water and a lot of folk, as I used to have, with their own wells.
