Panasonic Dvd Recorder Playing Up
25 Answers
I purchased Panasonic DVD recorder model DMR-ES20DEB in 2005.
I fear it may be time for a replacement, but meanwhile I have two programmes recorded.
The recorder has new batteries and I have ensured all connections are tight.
When I switch it on it shows message “Hello” followed by “self check” then it switches itself off. Then it switches itself on again followed by “self check” then it switches itself off again
I have tried pressing the function button on the remote but no result.
Any help appreciated. Customer service are closed until Monday

I use them (and dual-layer BluRays) for dropping my holiday videos onto. They're not like the old DVD-RAM discs that you had to turn over, they're just a double-volume disc.

I have ordered delivery of the new recorder.
Discs are not necessary when recording as programmes go straight onto hard drive. Discs can be used for professional dvds but I already have a DVD recorder (just for bought dvds ) Scart sockets no longer used, so I can ditch those. Help is provided by the store if needed. Hopefully I will manage. Thanks again. Freya
