I am, much under-appreciated these days. No-one really captured the sleazy, louche sub-culture like Hamilton.

Amazing..!! I'm ashamed to say that I'd never even heard of him until recently, when I read a comic novel by Keith waterhouse based on the premise of an undiscovered Hamilton manuscript. When I found he was a real novelist, I decided to start to read him simply because of the appealing way in which he and his body of work was presented by Waterhouse. I'm just about to order a couple of books of his, and from everything else that I've read I certainly get the impression that over the years he's been badly under-rated and overlooked.
