Quite fortunate that she was agile enough to fight it off. An older, less agile person may have suffered very bad (maybe even fatal) injuries.

Foxes rarely eat hedgehogs, Barry. They might scavenge a dead one, but foxes are no real danger to them.

Badgers on the other hand, might.
Badgers eat hedgehogs, barry.
Must type faster than Bm ;)
Yes that is upsetting. I don't know what % of the fox population eat HHogs but during lockdown when I fed as many as five on some nights the fox/s in the garden never touched them. They just ate the food if there was any left. Got it all on my wildlife camera, one of the best things I ever bought.

The fox was ill and probably wasn't aware what it was doing
The fox was rabid, RH.

Was the fox called Basil?
Doh, I've just re-read what you said and I see you said it was ill!
Thats OK BM
Poor bleeder was out of its mind
Ah, crossover mental health issues.
I've got a brilliant video of a fox and cat chasing each other around a garden. It was sent by a friend of mine and was taken in her parents' garden. When I can separate it from other pics linked to it I'll post it. It made me smile and perhaps will do the same for you.
