I suspect there is a majority ant-Tory view among ABers and that's fine. But, as life-long Tory, I just despair that Sunak and Truss are so uninspiring and, frankly, mediocre.

There's the issue with terms such as Socialist State. Things are on a sliding scale, not two extreme incompatible points, and at least in the UK there is a distinction between communism, which takes total control, and socialism that regulates the capitalist activity that's otherwise allowed to do it's job within a framework.

Start officially distributing wealth from those who have managed to harvest it from society, back to the general public in terms of welfare & services, and you have socialism.

I’ve never been so disillusioned and I reckon that goes for many many other voters. I will vote tactically as I believe a Labour Govt would be even more disastrous.

Here's a money saving tip - A general election costs about £150 million. (not including campaign costs)

Just roll over the 500 or so "safe" seats with the current incumbent (or a successor from the same party) and hold elections in the 150 marginals. It would be a much democracy as we currently "enjoy".

I didn't mean to insult anybody in particular and perhaps I should have said "One's view on human nature...."
However, it is clear to me that some are more selfish than others and that human nature is not a simple black and white subject; there are degrees of selfishness, kindness, and all the other attributes we have. For example, some are more touchy than others and have more highly developed hyprocrisy detectors and insult receptors.

If you dont like the Tories vote them out next election.I dont like the SNP nationalists up here in Scotland but i do know i have to vote them out if i want to get rid of them.At present the nationalists in Britain seem to have a captured(or a Stockholm Syndrome)audience.Both the Tories in England and the SNP in Scotland.
