Partygate Inquiry Delayed.
Sorry for the lateness of this news, i didn’t see it 3 weeks ago.

Conservative MP Laura Farris quit the Inquiry the minute that Parliament went into recess. Here resignation has to be acknowledge by Parliament, so we have to wait for the next session to open. Only then can a replacement to found and sworn in.
This seems like a deliberate action, but what for ?

interesting body of law ( he says, bored with the usual low brow carping on this thread).
Judges apply different rules to themselves - the impt one being over Lord Hoffan on Pinochet's extradition
The Hoff forgot to mench his wife's reln with Amnesty - oops - he put up a fight ( so what? I 'm not etc) but it was automatic recusal
For others the bar ( bar ho ho geddit) is HIGHER - the conflict has to be much nearer ( or apposite)
It is discussed here
Kaur v Ilex ( cheating in exams, recusal) [2011] EWCA Civ 1168
bUT - - - are MPs self governing ( yes) and can set their own rules ( yes) and need not pay attention to law ( yes)
