I simply don't like the person who is leaving, but I feel pressured to go. All I want to do is to say, "No". I also live the furthest away so I don't want to spend too long travelling home. I also have my own friends outside of work and usually don't mingle with work colleagues outside of work. I don't like mixing work with pleasure either. Sorry.....I do sound a bit of a kill joy, but that's me.
Don't go, if it's one thing I've learned its that no one really cares about who's going to a leaving do. No one remembers if you were there or not after time. Some think I've been at them when I haven't and vice versa. If something real cropped up last minute to stop you going you'd not be so worried so make something up.
I’d go acause nine time outta ten the person will be different out of the work environment and you could find you actually like the person .I once got the face ate off weekly by a bookies counter staff worker .Met him once out side of the work place and honestly he was one of the nicest people I’ve ever met .What ever you decide to do be safe .
Tell them you're washing your hair. Seriously, though, just say you're not going, fail to turn up or if you have to tell them one way or another ,lie and say you have tickets for something.
