Back in the day didn't we take our camera's with us?
The Royal Family are used to being photographed by whatever devise is pointed at them and with the media throng generally out of sight to us, they face a thousand lenses.

I couldn't bear having a phone shoved in my face, but I expect the Royals are well used to it and take it in their stride. It's obviously allowed, otherwise security would step in, I imagine.
And the modern world in general. It's a good job the phones are rolling in Ukraine for personal loss of a murdered family member along with the mass murder.^^
