Door For My Electric Meter
16 Answers
The door for the above outside house has fallen off numerous occasions and now is fully broken.
I contacted my electric supplier but they have said they are not responsible for the door (I wasn't expecting them to be responsible) anyway they told me I need to do it myself.
Now my problem is I don't know what to order - there are a lot on Amazon for example.
How can I properly size my meter and buy a new door.
Thanks for any help.

Sounds to me like yet another denial of responsibility by a commercial corncern and passing it onto a powerless citizen, who can like it or lump it. In any case whoever was responsible for the box being installed should have responsiblity for maintenance/repairs/replacement. But there should be an installer who is hireable to do the job. Again the home owner ought not have to know about repairing boxes.
Lefty rubbish OG.
Its on the homeowners property and the home owner should have the option to put a new box on if they want and not be dependant on some Government Union bod to say yeah or Neigh.
For the OP, there are various boxes for both Gas and Leccy both for External and partially in the building. It's fairly easy to determine which one. I use these people: https:/ /www.me terbox. co.uk/
