Liz Truss
I did not think it possible for the UK to have a worse Prime Minister than Boris Johnson; and I think that should Labour win the next general election, they will be just as incompetent as the current Tory government.
Liz Truss appears to be proving me wrong on both of the above counts.

//Starmer isn't honest. He's slimy.//
PMSL, isn’t honest in comparison to who?
Your hero, the proven liar? You seriously need to try thinking before you post such baseless drivel.
As for slimy, who would you rather see your daughter skipping up the driveway with, Starmer or Johnson?
Imagine how poor Carrie’s parents reacted to the news when she first told them?
Bleurgh!

//Like I said. Be careful what you wish for. Should have stuck with Boris.//
Yet again, tell me why exactly? Which qualities and attributes does Johnson bring to the post? Tell me?
What credibility does a proven liar possess?
What is endearing and trustworthy about a Prime Minister who lies about knowledge of a sexual predator and even promotes him?
For once, just once:
Answer the questions, shouldn’t be difficult if you believe he’s worthy of the post?

Possibly, but no matter how egregious Bozo's behaviour his fan-kids will say he got Brexit done (sorta). So unless someone says he lied, he turned a blind eye to the illegal lockdown parties (at least), he condoned his mates taking bungs, and unwanted fiddling with others people bits, we would have been stuck with him.
Not sure Boris’ deposing was done hastily. It took about a year. His dishonesty was not momentary, but went back years. And his incompetence all too apparent from the word go. He only lasted as long as he did because of the pandemic. In normal circumstances, his failings would have been acted upon much more quickly.
The Conservative leadership election surely needs reforming. After delivering two duff Prime Minister in succession, a new way to find a leader needs to be found.

Bemusement for Boris I’d say. His sense of humour won’t fail him. Sunak, I’m not so sure. Still smarting probably. He should have thought a bit more about the well-being of the country before reaching for his knife but that, I guess, is what happens when the irresistible urge to achieve greater personal heights looms.

//much too hasty in getting rid of Boris and Rishi... they must be having a good old snigger...//
But it perplexes me that having knowledge of a sexual predator, promoting said predator then lying about knowing about it is deemed acceptable behaviour for a Prime Minister?
Genuine question:
Is it because Pincher is allegedly gay do his behaviour ‘doesn’t really matter’?
What if this scenario was played out in a school but the Headmaster was Boris Johnson? Or if Pincher had groped females and not males?
Isn’t Johnson’s demeanour and the mindset of it all a bit frightening?

Fatti - you've become even more obsessive than gulliver1 (quite an achievement). You should see a therapist.
Unless of course you are being paid to post here ad nauseam!//
Aw, bless you Davebro! The same concerns for me that Deskdiary has? What are the chances? I’m touched(but not in a Pincher type way, no pun intended).
As for therapy I think reckon I’ll be fine.
I’m more concerned that some rabid Tory members would advocate machine-gunning immigrants on a beach, they’re the type that would benefit massively from therapy or a dose of abstinence from AB, wouldn’t you agree?

If the Conservatives ditch Liz Truss in favour of Rishi Sunak they have a chance of avoiding electoral meltdown.
She has been called the Tories' Jeremy Corbyn: she does have this in common with JC, apart from inncompetence and extreme policies: both were elected by the members after MPs had voted for someone else (Boris J was also the MPs' choice)
Time surely for both parties to change their rules?
