Hello AB'ers, My pc ( wired) recently was formatted but I cannot now sign-in to MSNMessenger (7.5), message appears immediately:- " Sorry, we are unable to sign you in to the MSN Messenger at this time, please try again later." Troubleshooter initially did not tick IE's offline setting but does now. Other pc in another room ( wireless ) does not have this problem. When Windows had been re-installed Messenger was working ok but after completion of installing all other programmes the problem started and has been like this for 16 hours. All other applications are working correctly. Can't find out how to solve this problem----hope one of you clever AB'ers can assist. Regards, alscot
If you havent already, try re-installing MSN. Sometimes, windows have problems with drivers and will 'Throw out' an existing driver wth a new installation of a driver that it THINKS is similar.
You could also try asking MSN to complete a test on your service (this can be accessed by clicking on link at bottom of pop-up screen).
I ALWAYS get that message if I try to start Messenger and am not connected to the Internet...could that be a pointer to your problem..............Why not get the latest version (8) it will update your 7.5 and might do the trick.
Flower Petal and commoner---had already tried what you both suggested and after contacting Messenger Help it appears to be load library and or registry problem( all double dutch to the technically challenged !!) and problem too with Windows updates. I will post question on latter soon.
Many thanks to both for replies.
