All manifestos are worthless (see my posts ad infinitum on here regarding the integrity of politicians – of all persuasions).
//Everyone agrees it was all about Brexit and very little else.//
By “everyone” I assume you mean those who haven’t read it. Just read the first twenty or so pages and you will find pledges on health, social care, education, policing and much more. Of course the emphasis was on Brexit because the political paralysis that resulted from the referendum had engulfed the country for three years was the very reason the GE was called.
//i do not see much evidence that eu member states have their identities crushed either… even if they are part of the monetary union//
No country that has adopted the euro will ever be able to leave it. That is the EU’s strategy to achieve a federal Europe – make the entanglement so great that leaving is virtually impossible or at least it means huge upheaval. Then progress with the “project” knowing that the member states are effectively ensnared. The single currency is probably the greatest contribution to that strategy the EU has made. Any country that does not control its own currency may have an identity, but it doesn’t have the ability to effectively control its fiscal and economic policies.
