So Far The Airfyer Is A Success
24 Answers
On Saturday I did a test run with a large veggie samosa. Crispy in half the time.
Dinner was marinated chicken thighs...moist and very crispy. I had to adjust tjme as 2 thighs were somewhat larger. 20 minutes plus 2.
Lunch yesterday was a very thick burger topped with cheddar...about 11 minutes. A bit less would have been fine
Last night was bacon wrapped sweet chilli prawns and mini plum tomatoes thrown in for 1 minute...9 minutes in all.
I've given timings for anyone who might be interested in comparing.

We tried a 1.5 kilo chicken in it and the top of the breast was touching the heating element at the top. The recipes in the book were mainly for two portions and one recipe said to cook half the food then do the other half afterwards. I’m happy it works for you just saying for some it may not. I think there will be a lot of air fryers put in the back of a cupboard like the soup makers and ice cream makers by this time next year.
Had mine a week or so and also very happy with it. I made muffins yesterday, 20 mins, from getting the ingredients together to finish baking. They turned out lovely. Last night I used it to re heat some homemade fish cakes and oven chips. 30 minutes total. I am waiting for a delivery of a metal rack so can cook more things together. It is a learning curve, to get the temperatures and times right, but so far so good. So easy to clean too.
There will always be a household gadget graveyard. But there will be many successes also. It depends on need, and even cooking skills. I've seen airfryers described as mini convection or fan ovens...that makes how they work more understandable.
For someone like me, running a full size oven is pointless most of the time...so this and my smallish slow cooker fulfil my needs.
