These were very young children - was there an adult supervising them, or were they there alone?

Zebu, I was remarking on the different reactions on AB and elsewhere. The McCanns are constantly blamed for leaving their little girl alone. Nobody even seems to be asking where the parents of these kids were. Are parents to be criticised or not? I have every sympathy for them regardless - but also for the McCanns.

jno, it is not right to leave toddlers alone whilst the parents are at a restaurant. There is nothing wrong with a group of children playing in the local park during the day without their parents.
