A well written cover letter can advertise your computer skills and your grasp of English far more than a C.V could so plan it carefully and don't waffle.
Good luck with the job

I don't even look at the C.V if the covering letter is not hand written, It does not look more professional to type a letter, it just looks as if you can't write.
What's the point of enclosing a letter with your C.V, if its all typed, anyone can do that.
For info. I also bin all C.V's on coloured paper, Why? I hate it so its just a way of sorting.

If your handwriting is neat, that's the way to go. Many companies employ people with graphology skills (it's one of my hobbies) and your handwriting will tell the recruiter a lot about you.
If your writing doesn't do you any favours ie it's not very legible, then stick to the typewritten letter as first contact.
