False Claims
I don't often venture in to 'News' but this is a disturbing case https:/ /www.da ilymail .co.uk/ news/ar ticle-1 1595853 /How-wo mans-fa lse-rap e-traff icking- claims- Asian-g rooming -gang-s parked- nationa l-outra ge.html
What motivated her to bash her face with a hammer that she bought and make up all these lies on social media? Is she an attention seeker, hooked on getting 'likes' or is there something more to it? Could she have been groomed by a 'far right' mob or does that only happen in Corrie?
I know she's not the first to make false claims of rape and she certainly won't be the last, but this is probably the most extreme instance. Did she report it to the police herself or did they get involved because of her social media posts?
I have no idea what the appropriate sentence would be.

I think it's a very good example, Peter. The typical sentence for the offence is always a few months inside. Here's another:

Judge Briscoe was not a "points swapper" herself but sought to provide provenance to the lies concocted by Ms Pryce.

Well it seems that her mother has the money at the moment, Barry. When the fund started the organiser wanted some to go for her defence and some for counselling.
Then it was to be split between two charities but one, The Maggie Oliver Foundation, won't accept it.
I think I'd like some who suffered financially to benefit if possible.
