I've just been offered a job, but they will be carrying out a background check, When i was 15 (i'm now 21) I was cautioned for shoplifting and i'm worried this will show up as they made a big speech about being completly honest about the past.
I'm sure at the time i was told that i would not have to declare this unless working with children but I don't really remember much about it. I'm pretty sure they said it would be a PNC check that they are going to do, will it show up on this?
Also, if i got it wrong and its a crb check will it show up on that? Its a shop management position so would they be allowed to do a CRB check?
Obviously i'm really worried about this and i can't seem to find any information online so any helo would be appreciated. thanks.
A caution isn't a conviction, but some police forces keep them on the record indefinitely. I'd ask the force from whom you accepted the caution what their policy is.
