Soda Stream Syrup

Can I mix this with plain water instead of using it in the soda stream?
I can’t drink fizzy drinks so currently decant a can of Pepsi and leave it to go flat in the fridge for 24 hours.

I think it'd be OK. It's just flavoured syrup at the end of the day. Just like cordial.

If it is fizzy wine it may go bang.

I put syrup in my drink and then decided to add more gas. It turned into something resembling an exploding water hydrant.

I don’t have a SS but it was when I was doing my online shop, it works out cheaper and less waste to buy the syrup.

You can get 3-litre bottles of Pepsi for about the same price as a 500 ml bottle. That would last you a while.

It’s more it needs to be flat and I actually drink about a litre a day

As mentioned, only carbonate water in a soda stream. Anything else will explode/erupt and make a mess. If you are going to try it anyway, use a very small amount of fluid (wine, for example) and only carbonate it with very short bursts (less than a second at a time).

RH, it's perfectly fine to use the syrup with normal water. You can also get official Pepsi syrup online (it isn't cheap however it will make the perfect flat Pepsi every time - if you go down this route you may need to try a few different types of water (tap, bottled, filtered)).

Also, I don't use a soda stream any more, I just purchase the syrup and bottled sparkling water. I did have my own drinks dispenser at one point, it was one that I salvaged from the social club I was working at. It was a nightmare to clean.
