The New Testament expects us to believe that a man was raised from the dead after been entombed for 3 days.
Why would anyone just believe this?
And if we don't, then we are all doomed to hell?

//nailedit, welcome back to R&S. You've been missed//
Thank you naomi :-)

Just as an after thought...
Jesus supposedly spent 3 nights and 3 days in the grave
(He didn't...Friday lunchtime until Sunday morning is not 3 days and definitely not 3 nights!! Do the math)

Crucifixion is a horrible way to die but so are many other ways.
People have suffered far worse!
My own Mother's first husband drowned rescuing her brother (my uncle)
THAT was a sacrifice.

Jesus KNEW that he would be bought back to life again (allegedly)
So what exactly was the sacrifice?
People don’t come back from the dead. That’s life.
erm I think that was the point of the accounts

God promises to give the Messiah long life (literally, length of days), which is a technical phrase sometimes associated with resurrection (see Ps. 21:4; 23:6). In Psalm 17:15, David expresses confidence that God will satisfy him as well with a resurrection
so.... doesnt occur in the OT either.

got it - no idea why I thought resurrection was a theme in the bible.
we have had this - on the third day
and the answer was ( last time) and is (now)
zero wasn't around then for another thousand years ( arabs invent zero 1 jan 1000, or therabouts)

Jesus had a cr@p weekend.
No big deal then?
What gets me is all the rubbish about "God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son". He didn't, he had him crucified so he would get him back again in the kingdom of Heaven. So all this stuff about God's sacrifice is a load of gollocks.
You're welcome )
Oops, wrong thread.
