New year new resolutions, so I am restarting the old group. We can celebrate losses and offer support.

Four pounds this week, hardly surprising so that is half a stone in two weeks. Can't have a bug every week so I expect I will settle back to a normal loss of 2lb a week with a bit of luck from now on.
Decided that for now until my activity levels can improve I am ditching full dinners for soups,( ducking an extra handful of veggies in for bulk) or maybe a single slice of beans on toast, still having a proper breakfast, and a lightish lunch but I really don't need to eat the diet of a busy working woman.
The sugar free jellies will go back into production made with nearly a fruit serving per portion, usually berries a whole pack of frozen into one pint of jelly makes 5 good servings. I have a bit of squirty reduced sugar cream on to make them look like a proper pudding. Also custard made with skimmed milk and sweetener and chopped up banana for a hot one. The remainder cold, blended with fat free Greek yoghurt and some caramel skinny syrup makes a nice frozen dessert but is a total faff!

Managed to lose the pound I put on last week and then lost an actual new pound, so I'm pleased with that. The calorie counting is not too bad as long as I don't start eating too early in the day.
I'm eating a jacket potato with my evening meals as they help with portion control - no mound of mash or chips.
I did buy a loaf of bread but froze it straight away and take out two slices at lunchtime so again portion control.
I've joined 'Men and Women in Sheds' on Monday mornings and I'm standing for up to 3 hours doing woodwork. It's run by ageUK for the over 50s. It's sociable, will be useful when I've made something and must be better than being slumped in front of a tablet or TV.

Lost 1 pound so I'm 13 stone 1. Hoping to see 12 stone (13 pounds!) next week. That will be a milestone going down into the 12s. Well done on maintaining your weight this week Rowan. Now your health has improved you'll be more energetic and using more calories without noticing. Best wishes for a good week.
I gave the last few away, boxes of biscuits welcomed by the bingo group as line prizes. I cleared out my fridge and my freezer was full of meat fish and veggies anyway. If it's not in the flat I can't be tempted. Although I did have a bag of chocolate buttons yesterday. Smallest thing I could put in my basket. Favoured every one, won't need any more for about a month.... I learnt it I have a craving don't fight it, but give into it in the most controlled way possible. Or I end up doing more harm, picking at things trying to get rid of it.

Minty what is pink? I'm hoping you're going to say pork pie but I'm afraid you won't.
Just had my cholesterol checked as part of the NHS 'Our Future Health ' project. They want 5 million volunteers to measure, take blood from and have access to their medical records so that they can research changes in our health over our lives. The research should help to find new ways to diagnose diseases earlier and predict who is more at risk of disease.
It turns out I've got high cholesterol, 6.67, so that's a very good reason to lose weight if nothing else keeps me on the salads.
