When you've had guests for dinner and the kitchen is a mess do you sort it now or leave it until the morning?
I have never left it but tonight I can't be bothered.
Will I regret it in the morning.....or afternoon if I sleep in? ;-)
No, Pasta but it's not unknown for guests to stay the night since the new making her mark on the village Garda arrived.
Our TD (MP) tried to have those of us living in rural areas exempt from the drink driving laws as socialising is good for our mental health. Didn't get passed. :-)
//he does try to help but like most men....just gets in the way//
I really feel your pain there.
It is actually a bad thing for us to be in the kitchen together. We can quickly build up to a row because we both have very different ways of doing things. There are knives in there too.
They brought chocolates, Bazille. If I made them wash up they'd not do that next time. Black Magic because they know I'm a bit of a Witch.
We have different ways of doing things too, BM but I tell Dave his way is right so he can continue to do it as I'd never do it as well as he does. He hasn't cottoned on yet. :-)
Well not much of the morning, Hazlinny. I was looking for a song to reply to you with but I don't think people like washing up.
The first one was sweary and the second chap was "washing up the dishes while singing from the bottom"
LOL Barmaid , we are exactly the same! He puts the dishwasher on the longest cycle , 3 hours, - even if it is only half full!! If the dishes aren’t very dirty I usually use the 29min cycle and it cleans them perfectly! My bugbear is during the week when he has eaten dinner and the dishwasher is empty he will go into kitchen, open it and put his plate right in the middle of the empty rack, not on the far left or far right, but smack bang in the middle! I could scream! Lol.
I used to stack everything in the utility room until they left then do it even if it meant not getting to bed. My obsessive tendencies meant I couldn't go to bed until everything was back to as it should be. That included a quick pass with the Hoover and wiping the side tables.
Must be a Dave thing, my first husband(mark) would have the washing up done course by course, and it would be sorted before we had settled down with coffee, Then my female ex was the same, both virgoes. Teri was happy to clean up if I had cooked. Dave, no, the couple of times we entertained he virtually had to wrestle me out of the kitchen (he got up early and did it while he was brewing the first pot of tea but only because he felt it would be wrong for me to be using the hoover in a block of flats at midnight...)
