I can't see a connection between Mr Bruce and Mr Vine, their shows are not comparable in any way.

The audience 'knew' all those presenters. Radio 2 was a comfortable place to be. The BBC must need its brains testing.

I don't mind Jeremy Vine. I quite like pretty much any discussion programme.

I think Duggie was pointing out that they were getting rid of a presenter who seems to be well-liked, but keeping on that some people like but many think that he is irritating and obnoxious.

I know that it is not as simple as that, but this is Chatterbank.

^Added to that, unlike the more light-hearted presenters who do (or did) actually entertain, Jeremy Vine often lets his politics show a bit too much.

I wonder who made the first approach - Greatest Hits or Ken Bruce.
Quite a thing to give up the most-listened-to programme on UK radio, with a salary of £385,000. I think there's much we don't know about what went on in the corridors of power at the BBC.

Given that he had seen the way the BBC had treated several other Radio 2 presents perhaps Ken decided it was time to move on. They have last their biggest asset, such a shame

I think he did make the decision to go but having done so the BBC asked him to go earlier than planned. The whole thing leaves a very sour taste. I doubt the BBC has done itself any favours.
