Scientists have finally found an alternative to plastic food packaging, from processing seaweed.
I'm wondering how soon, will this be rolled out, and also, is it possible for it to microwaveable ?
Years ago the Co-op's single use 'plastic' carrier bags were biodegradable. No idea what they were made of but I made the mistake of storing some woollens in them one summer and they just left a fine dust on the floor of my loft when I went to retrieve my jumpers. I suspect they were starch based.
I sometimes wonder how folk lived without plastics, then suddenly I'm reminded that fish fingers and fish fillets have been packed in cardboard boxes for yonks.
