Why Are Skirts Seen As More Attractive Than Shorts By Men?

I have always wondered, but never asked, why men prefer women to wear skirts over shorts. Skirts are very loose whereas shorts can be figure hugging and emphasis the buttocks/waist better.

Is it because skirts are associated with youth?

Or subconsciously skirts look to be easier access ie less of a barrier than shorts when accessing sex?

Or you don’t know?

Depends entirely on the shape of the person wearing the skirt / shorts.

I believe there's an item of clothing called a Skort now which look like shorts from the back and a skirt from the front. Bizarre.

Ha ha nope, it was a girl on TV and I commented to Mrs Z who confirmed she was wearing a skort.

Skorts were invented in 1959 so been around a while

I never wear skirts now...they just make me feel awkward and uncomfortable. But when younger it was midi skirts....and even further back mini skirts. Only wore shorts in adolescence...another clothing item that's not for me. And really not for anyone of a certain age. Makes me cringe when I see older ladies in them.
As for what appeals to men...I imagine it depends on the generation.

I loved wearing hotpants. I wore them to work in the early 70s! Suede ones. Wore them with those shirts that tied up below the boobies. And always with long boots. Those were the days. Nowadays it's more like baggy T shirts or jumpers with jeans. I hate having to be smart. So does Mr T or Master T and wife.

Oops...I forgot the hotpants. I worked for an advertising agency then, so easily got away with them. Also my embroidered bell bottoms!
Now, I live in skinny jeans ;)

Pasta. I got married in purple bell bottoms, matching top and platform boots. It was winter so I had a flowing cape, but I shed that in the registry office.
