Could someone please explain why we're told that nuts (natural/unsalted/unflavoured)are a healthy snack, despite being rated as very high in saturated fats/oils, on the packaging. I've drastically changed my diet recently, due to high cholesterol and (thankfully!) love fruit, vegetables, oats, nuts, etc., but am confused by the fat content on the labels! What amount is healthy, if any?
Thanks.

a small handful.
Nuts are high in mono- and poly-unsaturated fats, while other snacks like crisps are full of trans and saturated fats.
Although the fats in nuts are healthier for you, you should still not go mad on them though. Nuts also contain fibre.
Unsalted is much better for you.
most of them are high in salicylates - natural blood thinners - lower blood pressure, especially almonds.
Almonds and Brazils are the best ones.
