For 1d, I have a parrot but don't know what sounding like a dove means.
1d. NZ bird sounding (almost) like a dove (4).

mUTISm - UTIS = extreme noise/din.
KUKU (a NZ pigeon) but it sounds exactly like a dove to me.

Utis is a new word for me.
It means din so 'of din once?'.
The clue does not make much sense to me.
