Good Morning Birdies

It's Thursday - only one day to go until the weekend. Where has the week gone?
Anyway, I do believe we have rain heading our way which I know will come as a big relief to many on here, not to mention their gardens.
We have invited the in-laws to ours for dinner on Saturday (he's already booked for Father's Day), although it won't be haute cuisine. I'll probably rustle up a posh fishfinger sandwich (haddock goujons from M&S), some chips and tartare sauce. We bought FIL a voucher for a nice restaurant near here to say congratulations on finishing his treatment and he was very pleased. I once took MIL to this place for lunch and she absolutely loved it - FIL has never been, so he is really looking forward to it.
Other than that, I don't have many plans for the weekend. I might manage to drag OH out for a drink on Sunday afternoon but we'll see. He's finishing work at 2pm today and going to the School for a Father's Day celebration reading event. I think it involves the dad sitting on a picnic blanket with the child and reading their chosen book or something like that.
Anyhoo, have a wonderful day and stay safe in the Sun.

Looks like we are in for another really hot one today. Went shopping yesterday and was completely floored by the heat. All grass going very brown now which can lead to fires especially if folk are careless or unthinking. We've had a couple down here where people have put very hot disposable bbqs in bins.

Would like to make it to the gym as well but time is off the essence lol

Good morning Lady-J, Arrods and divegirl.
People's stupidity will never cease to amaze me, Lady-J. Let's hope the rain that's forecast drenches the grass / lawns for you.
So sorry to hear your news, Arrods. I hope they have a lovely send-off and you and the family can treasure the memories you have.
Good luck with the final assessment, divegirl. I hope you get some gym time in. It's good for the body and mind! :-)

Morning, the vampires seen off yesterday though she had to bit both elbows to get the blood volume that she needed - the first one stopped flowing and the moment that she pulled the needle out, it started gushing out...the good news was my BP coming in at 126/82 so no heart attack or stroke imminent.
Morning , it’s actually cloudy out those French doors this morning ,me and Mister B have had some fun by throwing the already packed packing pods down the stairs to see who’s get the furthest :0)
We’re getting picked up at 6-30, only 20 minutes to the airport for our flight at 8-50 pm, ngets into Newcastle around 01-15 , depends how many flights are in at the same time but we’re hoping to be in our own bed for at least 3am
