I could never arrange to meet someone I didn't even know - when you think of all the creepy ugly blokes you know and realise it could be any of them that turn up - I am sorry but I think dating sites are for the desperate and lonely and I would have to be pretty bloody desperate and lonely to use one.

You are probably dwelling on your recent evaluation that you posted about. If you ask as many questions about how to go about your job as you ask on here your boss might think that you require more supervision than they thought. Show that you can be independent and hard working, be enthusiastic at work, do your job and then ask if any colleague needs anything. Have a chat with your GP or practice nurse. See if you can volunteer at your local library, hospital, hospice, care home, animal shelter or school
Everyone has periods of feeling down, dissatisfied with life (is this it?) with no energy to improve things. I think age has something to do with - you reach a milestone age and realise life hasn't panned out as you expected, you feel disappointed.
In the meantime everyone seems to be getting on in life, even enjoying it but of course we only ever see the mask that others want us to see. I'm sure you put on a smile and tell everyone you are fine, maybe embellish things a little bit now and again.
If these feelings drag on, you get so low that you start to neglect yourself, your friends and family and no longer have the energy and enthusiasm to do ordinary day to day things like keeping yourself clean, eating, going to work, it is time to see the GP.
If you feel suicidal at any time, call 111 or the Samaritans if you have nobody to talk to.
I hope you start feeling better in yourself soon, Abbey.

a chaperone could nurse any worries abbeyleigh they could wait in the car in the car park and read a book if you wanted to meet someone that you met on a dating app the reason people meet at restaurants is because they are nice neutral grounds that have cctv no worry of all the ugly creeps lankeela seems to know
The hardest thing to learn is that work if you are poorly qualified is very often a hard slog, with people you don't like, for money that is never enough to have the life you want. If you lose your job, I suggest you try to get some qualifications , lots of colleges offer free courses, or there are grants available. You will meet people in a similar situation, and improve your prospects at the same time. Challenging yourself to learn new skills will help your mood too.
roadman of course you meet them first before going on a date - either through friends or work or even in a pub but I could never arrange to meet someone for a date that I had never met before. A work colleague had a long string of failed dating website dates then met his 'forever' partner in the local chip shop after chatting in the queue. As for ugly creepy blokes I only have to look at my next door neighbour and would run a mile if that turned up.
