\\In the most ethnically diverse constituencies 14% of children are hit by the cap, compared to just 8% in the areas with least minority ethnic people, reflecting its disproportionate impact on religious and racial groups more likely to have larger families.//

Child benefits should be for the first two pregnancies (incase of multiple births, twins etc)

If you can't afford to have children don't have them.

"If you can't afford to have children don't have them" - bang on.
sounds like free condoms again?
Hear hear Webbo, all that would be , to encourage more young single pregnancies and more babies to be born into poverty
IMO a caring society might consider that everyone should have the ability to raise an offspring no matter how wealthy or not they were, and having decided that's a right of a citizen, offer financial aid to those unable to find sufficient funding for their first. But after showing such compassion, I see no reason to extend that to further children. Such support for two offsping seems too many already. I'm sure there are other welfare benefits to poorer families anyway without encouraging offspring they can't afford which just makes our overpopulation issue worse.
Multiple births are obviously not a choice so the group must count as one. i.e. first pregnancy rather than first one out.
religious and racial groups, i wonder who they are then, so burden the tax payer because of there religion or ethnicity, how about getting a job.
Labour's core voters are the public sector workers, long term benefit claimants, asylum seekers and illegal immigrants. The rest of us who have worked all their lived, paid their way and perhaps have savings are there to be bled dry to pay for the afore mentioned groups to keep them as grateful labour voters.
dave50, thats bang on correct, i have watched successive governments
do exactly as you mention, even worse for tax payers in wales, practically dishing out benefits, yet it takes them years to build a main
bus depot in there capitol...
