R&S Seems to be pretty vacant nowadays.
Lets revive it a bit...

Hell!
How can it be justified?
ETERNAL torment for finite sins? How does that work?
How could I ever be happy in heaven, knowing that my parents were
burning forever in a lake of fire?
How could I worship a God that orchestrated such a thing?

Can any of the religious believers on here justify that immoral doctrine?

I would have thought the need for translation of any of it would have gone without saying.
Matt was probably having a bad day, that day.
goodlife, how can the bible be true when it is full of contradictions?
a lot is ironed out in various versions - Vulcan
The nardy bible - Thou shalt commit adultery was re-corrected ( printed had his ears cut off and tongue pierced. Was it worth it?
nyar-narr farr farr he replied.) oh corrected to "Thou shalt not commit adultery" - note to self: I am posting on AB. er both versions cant be true at the same time.

Methuselah and melchisedech lived for difft ages and they are ratified, corrected and made the same

I can understand the OT aramaic being as God said ( c Koran) that is it is inerrant and as dictated
but the KJV - ( inerrancy returns = all true and no variation) 1600 y later which I find unlikely - but some people think it is inerrant
AND SO
someone in America has completely confused Pride (OT) Pride comes before a fall etc - so Isaiah - "show pride and you are done for". And he has applied it to Gay Pride
it may be this
https://spzh.news/en/news/74283-man-arrested-in-us-for-quoting-bible-at-gay-pride-parade
or this
Isaiah 1. 13 -- -- Bring no more vain oblations; incense is an abomination unto me; the new moons and sabbaths, the calling of assemblies, I cannot away with; it is iniquity ...

and I dont know what happened to him: someone tried to shoot him.
He was radio 4 and resisted the idea of language change. Sunday gone

so yeah in conclusion: mistakes can be corrected by the god-fearing
I would have thought the need for translation of any of it would have gone without saying.

nope: as you know, there is resistance to translation of the Koran ( islams holy book and word of god) because we know God speaks Arabic ( The prophet went to heaven and met him) and not English. Not translation: not the word of God

but you really knew that and were teasing us?
oh God - pun intended
Oppenheimer mistranslated - "I am become death etc...."
in the Gita, and 'Time' is more valid
Hindu thought for the day this week

so as you read reader - things really ARE lost in translaton
We're not talking about the Koran - and if we were we might mention the fact that the majority of Muslims on this planet do not speak Arabic.
Surely a discussion with a deity would be more akin to telepathy, and if you wanted to translate you'd do so yourself into your own tongue automatically from the understanding you'd just received.
discussion with a deity - er Gabriel was there, to accompany the main fella - - and Buraq has to be stabled somewhere, because it all started with Buraq's journey to Heaven

Majority of muslim arent arabists
Enemy of the state - the lady tried to pay off a widow whose european hubby has blown himself up, with a translated phrase of comfort and lulu. Someone comments - dont listen she cant read the Koran.

and that comes up in a conversion scene in Manchester - "dont listen to him s-o-b he cant read the koran"

Now fifty years ago, North Africa - you employed christians to read the Koran to leedol children in their own language - because they as sinners were allowed to translate where as the believers cdnt....
OG, one would hope that an omnipotent God can speak any language. In the telepathic world of a one to one conversation, no need for translation. :o)
Which is the reason for the last minute change of wording from 'needed' to 'wanted' :-)
:o)

Hebrews 11. verse 6. Says it all.

No it doesn’t.
Question Author
//Hebrews 11. verse 6. Says it all//

//And without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who earnestly seek him//

How the hell does THAT say it all?
There are hundreds of different churches, all with wildly different doctrines, theologies and beliefs. And they ALL have faith.
They cant all be right, but they CAN all be wrong.
How do these ancient Hebrews know ?

Why should anyone accept their version of how God must react ?

Anyone can make outlandish claims.
