im a bit of a people pleaser and i mean this to the extent that i feel bad hanging up on cold callers abruptly

however if you dare call me from a business and i can hear other people in the background in the call centre or hear the wind down the line or just find it hard to understand you because of network connection i am hanging up and i am not sorry

even for cold callers this is extremely unprofessional

I usually try and be polite and tell the cold caller thank you but no thank you. I will only put the phone down on them if they are persistant.

Many cold callers are actually working from home, with the background noise of a call centre being added to the call in order to make it seem as if they're phoning from a big organisation.

william i am normally the same because i understand these are people too but when i find it hard to hear it really annoys me

My phone doesn't ring if the number isn't in my contacts unless they verbally identify themselves. Cold callers never do.
I think cold calling is incredibly rude practice - interrupting me in my own home, in my personal time, to flog stuff I don't want.
