//Usually if you hold the lock/unlock button on the dash down for about 5 seconds there will be a beep and the autolocking is de-activated.//

I read that Ellie but I can't see any button on the dash to hit. Having this lock makes me claustrophobic
I wouldn't like it either, jenny, I'd feel trapped
Did you get a handbook when you bought the car?

Pop into your local garage JJ. They'll likely help you as it shouldn't take them more than a couple of minutes.

Have just had a little of reassurance from my neighbour who is also my friend's son. I am in and out of my "new" car and he was also outside and I asked him could he remove the autolock.

Of course he at 21 years of age he couldn't understand my understanding. - I said "when you get in and go a certain mileage the lock comes on - yeah he said but when anybody opens a door either front or back - that's it Now I did try earlier on locking from inside but will give this a pretty good try tomorrow.

I just worried that any passenger I could have had couldn't get out if I took ill behind the wheel. but, apparently - passengers just have to open their door and the deed is done. Everybody can get out. I will give that a try and I know that it will be ok. But thanks for any help from yourselves.
My Hyundai auto locks but my passengers can still open the doors to get out.
A friend had her handbag snatched from the passenger footwell when she was stopped at lights some years ago. Only took a second.
