Stopping The Mud!

My dog was bringing in loads of mud last year when it rained.

Got some fake grass laid which i thought would stop the problem.
But now he digs in the flower beds! So still causes a mess.

Was thinking of putting down some slate or bark on the beds, do you think that would work? Of any other suggestions?

I think that you might just have to accept that you dog is going to get muddy and find an easy way to clean him up.

I had to carry jerry cans of soapy water and towels when I took my last dog in the car to his favorite park. His very favourite thing was rolling in fox poo and worse.

Somed dogs love to dig, it's am instinct. Buen is right, a bit of muck is normal when you have a dog, I like the look of those paw washers.

1ozzy, i spend more time with my dog than most owners i know, but he likes the garden as well as the park and i dont want to stop him enjoying himself for the sake of a bit of mud.

The paw washers will becgood for coming back from the park, but the rest of the day i have my back door open all day so he can run in and out as much as he wants, i dont want to stop that. Just thought if i could reduce the mud it would help.

Have you seen those washable mats that supposedly trap the mud from paws? No idea how efficient they are

In the days when we had a dog (rough collie, so very hairy) we had her trained to sit and be cleaned off with an old towel before being allowed in the car/house. Watching dogs take their owners for a walk past our house it makes me believe very few people take the trouble to train dogs nowadays.

I do wipe his paws when we return from the park. But i the sort of owner who has the door open all day so he can come and go to the garden as he likes. I dont want to keep the dood shut and only let him out to do his 'business'and then keep him in.

He loves the garden and i dont want to stop that.
