What is this film??

Years ago I watched a film which was on at about 2am and no-one else in the world knows what I am talking about, apart from.... hopefully....you clever ABers!!!

The film was American and was probably made in the 70's. It began with a lady in a grocery store with her young son and she was busy shopping and she realised she couldnt see him in the store. She frantically searched the shop with other customers but he was gone. I can't actually remember the middle of the film, I assume it was the search for the missing son including the police etc. Then, maybe 20 years later the woman has a knock at the door and there is a man standing there who claims to be her son. She lets him in and is really happy etc, then at some point (i'm not sure if he stays with her for a while), he attacks her and I just remember her been tied to the pipes of the sink in the bathroom. Then she tries to get free (obviously) and then I can't remember anything else about the film but it has bugged me for about 12 years!!!!!

there was one that was based on real life story called - I know my name is Steven but dont remember the pipes bit the rest is the same

I saw that about 12 odd years ago and it was great think it was two part series then

I know my first name is steven but I know that is defo true story and he was kept by some man for years and years and then went back home and he died in real life from bike accident its very sad story
