Whatever Happened To Jeremy Corbyn?!

I took this question from another thread.  Having received the order of the boot from Labour, he sits as an Independent now but he's held Islington North for thirty years.   I wonder how he'll fare in the next General Election?  Will they go for him - or for the Labour candidate?  Or even ..... dare I say it? ... the Conservative.

He must have a certain amount of affection fom the voters of Islington so I think if he stands as an indy he'll win. Islington is too trobiscite to vote Tory.

I should think they'll vote Labour. I don't think there's a particular allegiance to Corbyn there, but he'll take a few votes from them no doubt.

As of May last year Islington council was made up of 48 Labour party councillors and 3 Green party councillors. 

They've had a Labour MP since 1937. The last Con MP was Albert Goodman in 1931. 
I don't think, even in our strange political times, there's much chance of a Conservative MP being elected, or whether they'll even bother to field a candidate. 
 

whether Corbyn can stand is a hot topic within the Labour Party with Kier Starmer opposing his candidacy.

I think he will be re-elected. 

Maybe he's a decent constituency MP, and at this stage, that's all he needs to be.

Now that he's nowhere near power I have developed a slight affection for Jezza, he's probably a good constituency MP and a paragon of sensibility compared to his MAABOF brother!

Starmer is a more obvious fit to the Islingtonian voters than Corbyn ever was.

I'm sticking with a Labour win ( without much confidence as my predictions have never been that great ).
