Has Anyone Ever Had Any Dealings With Keoghs ?
I did have a call from the insurance company some time later in 2021, telling me to expect a call from a solicitor as 1 of the 2 occupants was claiming personal injury (was obviously a scam) but not to worry, they would deal with it. I never heard any more.
I've tried contacting the insurance company but can't get thru' (I'm not insured with them any more). The letter states they will represent me unless I tell them otherwise. Having never heard of them I checked online. Their Trustpilot reviews are appalling, not a company I want anything to do with !
If I tell them I don't want their "services", what's likely to happen ?

Keogh: "Good morning Your Honour. I represent Mr CW1 in this matter. We've written and told him about that but we've had no reply and have received no instructions from him. Despite that, I'll press on regardless."
Judge: "Thank you Mr. Keogh. Do proceed" (or er....perhaps the judge will have something else in mind).
If you are claiming no losses it doesn't matter to you. If someone is claiming against you your insurers at the time should deal with it. As above, simply pass the letter on to your insurers (by the "signed for" service) and let them deal with it.

My suspicion is that Keogh's have not been instructed by anybody but have simply obtained your details somehow and are chancers.
As newjudge says and some of us said write to your insurer ..recorded/ signed for if you want to spend as much as a few pounds...and enclose Keoghs letter. Or just o nothing and wait to see if your insurer from then tells you there's a claim. My guess is you'd of heard something from them or the other drivers Solicitors by now if there was so there's nothing going to hsppen. Certainly bailiffs won't just turn up
Cguk, end of July I sent an email to the insurers, marked Urgent, explaining the "lack of" accident etc, attached the 1st page of the letter Keoghs sent that said they'd been instructed by the insurers, ended the email by saying
"I have never heard of Keoghs, the solicitors (?) who wrote a 10 page letter to me that tells me absolutely nothing (other than they're apparently acting on your instructions, and the date of the "incident"), so I checked them on the Internet.

They are not a company I wish to deal with so will not be contacting them, & I do not wish them to have any more of my details, particularly phone number or e-mail address.

Other than a few unanswered phone calls that come up as spam (mobile), where no vm has ever been left or on the land line (I screen my calls, don't answer if I don't recognise the number), nothing. No more letters, no unwelcome visits 👍

Yeah I don't really know what to do, it's exactly the same situation as you. Keoghs have all the details of the accident and have said there representing my insurer, if I lose I have nothing to pay regardless. The only problem I have is I haven't and can't contact anyone at my previous insurance company.
That is a slightly different situation to mine Cguk. I was automatically blamed because I was behind but the other party have clearly "conned" my insurers. I do have proof now I couldn't possibly have caused the damage (& injuries ?) they presumably have said I did, but it's too late for me now.
My 1st port of call would be your insurers. Google their contact details if you don't still have them. Did you tell them about your accident at the time ? People don't always if it's the other party's fault. I would insist they deal with it. Looking at their reviews, it's going to be a complete waste of time trying to deal with Keoghs.
Another thought, did (do) you have legal advice included in your policy ?

Hi, yeah I spoke to them at the time and told them and they have taken my side of things. Obviously the other guy has blamed me and is trying to have a claim up. Everything with keoghs sounds genuine and there ment to be representing my insurerers, but it bothers me my insurance has never spoke to me about this, and I can't contact them. Oh and yes I have legal advice.
