Difference In Size Of Tyres

I was wondering if it would cost more to replace tyres that are large?  i.e.  I quite like the look of a Citroen C3, but the tyres look huge to what I'm used to (I have currently an old style Citroen C1) and wonder if having a car with bigger tyres would make it pricier to replace/run, etc?

Yes generally the larger the tyre the higher the price. The last number is the size of the wheel they are designed to fit, eg 255/50/18 = 18inch.

If you have a good tyre fitter near you, there's always the option of 'part worn' tyres which are considerably cheaper than new. Often these only have slight wear.

As the tyres will be a larger diameter, the speedo and mileometer will also need to be adjusted as the car will travel a longer distance for each revolution.
