Air b&b is a booking agency used for renting self catering holiday accommodation-anything from a room to a mansion. 
 

b&b means bed and breakfast in a guest house.

simplified, airbnb have a list of places you can stay for a holiday, which you can rent, like an apartment, a big house or other. The name airbnb is just a name, and doesn't mean air bed and breakfast. 

Bed and breakfast was a term used for boarding houses at the seaside, where the price included bed and breakfast.

If you were to watch Four in a Bed, you'd see that many B and B's are very upmarket and varied...and not necessarily near the seaside 😉

Some AirBnBs are traditional B &Bs.

The site advertises everything from a small tent in a back garden to a whole mansion and everything inbetween.  I've seen a sofa in the lounge advertised,bring your own sleeping bag

In a traditional B&B the host usually lives at the address and provides the breakfast. This is not necessarily the case with an air B&B which might be totally self catering

what way do you want me to confirm - of course I am jennyjoan and always want to be but I had too much trouble with Microsoft - my computer repair guy could not get any response from them and so for me to get email - I had to change my email address.
