changed my batteries earlier when i got a message saying i had to replace them within 10 mins, what would happen had i not changed them within 10 mins?

They say that but my grandson is always pinching the batteries out of ours for his dalek and other stuff and it never needs retuning, though yours is the posh white one so maybe that is different. William never takes his out he says, but he has had his since January and not had to replace them yet.
