This may seem odd but mine was making 'stained glass windows' at junior school with coloured tissue paper and the school Christmas party jelly and blancmange.

We eat a lot of boiled bacon all year round, we prefer to ham in sandwiches when it's cold and eat it hot, often with poached eggs.

It was home made wine when I was little.

Cheaper to buy a bacon joint than the packets of what is more a ham flavoured sausage in the supermarkets.

Waking up on Christmas morning by my big Bro, shouting "his been, his been"

Then Dad came in and told me that 6am was too too early to start playing my new plastic trumpet

Christmas Eve being the only night of the year you would be willing to go to bed early.  <:)

Exactly, Rowan - I cook it in my pressure cooker and it keeps very well for a few days.

I've just thought of an unfavourite part of my childhood Christmas - shredded fingertips from grating mounds of stale bread for the stuffing.   I have no idea how we had so much stale bread in time for stuffing making, we never had any at any other time of year

No bacon for us although living on a farm we always had a full pig hanging up.

barry1010-- according to the media there will be a lot of very disappointed children this year. No luxuries like food or presents.

^^ Looks like the stale bread will be used to make bread pudding then, without the fruit. <:(
