OH takes 2 a day morning and evening, its a low does hes only been on them a couple of weeks now but as soon as he sits down he nods off

See 'Side effects of beta blockers', here:

I take beta blockers. I don't think they have made me feel more tired than I would without them.

Yes they do, but your body will adjust.

OH has been on them just over a month and has just this week started to feel as if his body is getting used to them. It's important to keep taking them.

Yes, they can make you tired to start with, but will gradually get used to them, and feel less tired.

Beta Blockers are prescribed for various conditions.   They do not prolong life in every instance.  Be guided by your GP/medical team.

Indeed Naomi.
I was put on them about thirty years ago for a stress and anxiety related problem, for about two months. OH is now on them for pretty much the rest of his life for AF.

Beta blockers became popular when a snooker player ( can't remember his name) was prescribed them for anxiety before games ,

but as my gp pointed out , no they don't make you better at snooker .!

Been on them for years. AF and other cardiac episodes. They don't make me sleepy or nod off but a couple of large G&Ts in front of the box in the evening does the trick. I'll blame it on Bisoprinol in future๐Ÿ˜†

Can I blame OHs beta blockers for me nodding off after a couple of stiff G&Ts??? ๐Ÿ˜‰

yeah snipers take them so that the barrel doesnt go - boom boom boom when they are aiming.

medical examiners count the artery in the forehead - temporal pulse er I am told, and fail the candidate if it is under 100. med students whould NOT be taking drugs for exams - god they dont have much of a sense of humour, do'em?

and yes beta blockers make you live longer ( as I was once told by a doctor) if you are in heart failure

Beta blockers improve life expectancy in people with heart failure caused by impaired contraction of the left ventricle (the main pump chamber of the heart).

god it is lucky no one relies on AB-pharma, it wd get its arriss sued off

 Bill Werbeniuk ?
