Heart Problems

OH had a echocardiogram and these are the results on his medical record,

Hypertrophic obstructive cardiomyopathy

Left heart failure

Left ventricular diastolic dysfunction

He's taking beta blockers and has a mri booked for early Feb just wondering if he will have to take any other meds or what will be the next step

Yes the gp has the results and they are now waiting on his mri and have put him on beta blockers

It would be a very stupid lay person/ or even with some medical knowledge on AB to comment on those results . IMO .

I really wanted to know if anyone had ever, been diagnosed with any of the above and what their treatment was.

yes they will review the test and may change the drugs ( but keep on the beta blockers)

dapagliflozin is in thepicture now and they may use that. ( diabetic drug that increases cardiac output 5-10%).

oh and ramipril is on the menu as well

wait for the experts and take the drugs they suggest ! and in the doses they suggest

( just been 'cardiac optimiised ' myself)

yup - have done. or have some.... and that was what they did.

(  not rocket science,, there are a huge number of people over 70 in heart failure of various types).

Thank you for comments, he is on Ramipril also simvastin and now the bisoprolol, and his gp has made an appointment to see him to discuss the results on the 2nd January, and I am going to make sure I'm there as well, to listen to what his gp says.

I certainly recognise your husband's heart conditions with an addition of aortic stenosis et al.I am also receiving the same medication as well as Depagliflozin and Spirinalactone.I am hoping for a pacemaker as an interim measure in the new year as my heart want's to take a cat nap occasionally and stops beating after slowing right down. It requires jump leads in shape of a pacemaker. Hopefully a cardiac op will follow later in theyear. Good luck to you and OH.

Thank you Retro and Good luck to you also, that is one of the things, I want to find out if he, will be having a pacemaker fitted, which is one of the questions I will be asking his gp in January.
