Hyacinth bulbs

I have bought and planted the bulbs, in various size tubs about 8 in all, how do I care for them pls ?do I give them feed ?
Should they go in the shed until xmas or when the start to sprout and them bring them indoors ?, at present they are still in the arbour in the garden, and how aften should I water them.
We are going away for 1 month at end of Nov, should I give them extra water/feed before i go ?
help and advice appreciated, its my first try.

I hope you bought the bulbs that are specially prepared for Christmas flowering.

Have you planted the bulbs so the top is just showing above the soil if so place them somewhere dark until the green leaves start poking out of the bulb then bring them into the light. |Just keep the soil damp do not over water as the bulb will rot If you are going away for a month you need to give them to a friend to look after

I've just planted some in a container and have placed mine in a partially open potting shed with a large flowerpot completely covering the container, to keep out the light. The soil needs to be just damp. However, you may find your timing is out of kilter with the hyacinths as most of them, if planted now, will be about three or four inches high by Christmas, when you're away, full of bursting buds & green shoots and be more than ready to bring indoors to flower. And by this time they will probably be in need of watering, otherwise they will die. As Yvonne has suggested, probably best to give them to a friend to mind, otherwise you may be disappointed by your efforts.
