Why Do Women Wear High Heels?

Don't get me wrong - they look very nice, but then again they look just as feminine in flats but they can't be very comfortable and I for one couldn't endure the discomfort for even a minute.

But most people that wear heels don't buy ill fitting shoes. The reason their feet get sore and they often walk home barefoot is because they've been on their feet all day and have probably been hitting the dance floor. Plus alcohol.

I must admit taking off my shoes in the evening but that's only to let my wife clean them without getting shoe polish on my socks (I'm joking, JOKING!)

Glad you made that clear, Lew! I decided long, long ago that my foot and back health came before appearance. I'm tall anyway and a neat 2" max. heel on dressy occasions is more than high enough. I dress for me, not anyone else (nor do I accept arbitrary 'rules or codes' - I just don't go; their loss! I only possess 2 or 3 dresses/skirts anyway. I am me, my clothes aren't me. P.S. I don't seem to have had too much problem attracting chaps

I have worn high heels since I was 13. I don't have a problem keeping them on all day. I no longer wear very high stilettos but I still wear heels every day
