I did it this past year and absolutely loved it. You literally get to climb steps up the side of the building, and get to lean over the edge. If not that, the 100th floor observation deck at the same building is awesome too. Check out Little Island, Central Park, Times Square, 9/11 Memorial, walk the High Line, Broadway/off Broadway shows are great.

Thanks for your answers. We had a great time in New York. Managed to visit Time Out in Brooklyn, walk across Brooklyn Bridge, Stanton Island Ferry to view Statue of Liberty, Grand Central Station Tour, 9/11 Memorial. Saw 2 Broadway shows (Moulin Rouge & Book of Mormon both amazing).
Had a meal at the restuarent below the friends building. Walked the high line to Hudson Yard and Chelsea Market
Walked length of Central Park, and visited 4 of the worlds best cocktail bars which has always been a dream
unfortunately the weekend we were there had a months amount of rain in 2 days so we didnt manage to get up high and see any views but had a fabulous time. Would definately go back!
