Baking soda will deoderise your fridge. I'd start by shaking soda in the area the milk was...leave for awhile, then wash off. It might smell worse before it gets better...and it might be a good idea to do more than once.

After cleaning, keep an opened pack of baking soda in the fridge.

I suspect that the milk has seeped through cracks/fittings in the base of the unit...difficult to clean properly without some dismantling, I suspect!

Put thick lemon slices on a plate and sprinkle 2/3 tablespoons baking soda and some table salt over them and leave in fridge for 6 days. I wouldn't mind betting there was a trace of milk lurking unseen in he fridge

You could try Milton sterilising fluid.

I've also seen a suggestion of wiping with diluted vanilla extract.

If its a self defrosting fridge then the milk may have found its way down onto the condensation tray thats sits above the compressor. You will need to pull fridge out and clean the tray. The heat from the compressor disipates the fluid in the tray, being milk the heat will make it smell.

I once managed to break a bottle of milk in my car.  I tried everything from baking soda to biological washing powder to expensive valets (3).

I ended up part exchanging for a new car 18 months later. I was glad to get rid

Did you have to milk your bank account. :0) ^

I did, it was a very sad for me

I was about to post virtually the same answer as Margo Tester
