Gromit, if they specified all those details for a password it would so much easier to hack.

I want my bank security to be as tight as possible and finger and occasional code sent to my phone is not a hassle

^^ It worked !!   you get the b.a & a cigar.

Brill. Pleased to hear it.

I help my elderly mother with her Halifax online banking. I do find it more challenging than my own Santander online banking.

Gettingonabit is right though, tell it to remember your device.

Gromit: "In short they are clunky, badly thought out  and not in the least bit intuitive. Not sure why that should be because they rich businesses and should be able to afford the best, but usually deliver dross." - I work for a bank and I agree, I see stuff like this every day. The problem is software devlopment is not done properly any more. When I first started in IT, before we ever devloped a system we would spend time understanding the function and the users and how they want it to work, what they find annoying etc, features that helped them etc. Sadly these days you get what someone thinks is intuitive, usually someone that is never going to have to wrestle with the monster they create. They start coding before they start designing, wrong, wrong, wrong!

I use Natwest on line and it is fairly easy.

My NatWest app stopped linking my account with my credit card. So I cannot see my spend and I cannot pay it easily. I have to do so via the browser. NatWest know there is a problem but have not rectified it in several weeks. We I think is appalling.

I use an older version of Microsoft Money to balance and predict my finances. It doesnt link to the bank  but I log on regularly to make sure both versions balance. Relatively little effort and nil stress
