Does anyone have one and do you recommend them

Yes, I have them in my bedroom and the living room. I do recommend. 
My house gets really hot in the summer, so we need extra standing fans during heatwaves.

Not at home as you might already have guessed, not a lot of call even at the height of the two week Scottish summer but, when on holiday in sunnier climes almost always and they're great.

Yes in the bedrooms, couldn't cope without them in the summef

I have one in our kitchen/diner.Great in the height of summer. Not so great for my two  sons who have achieved great height.The fan is reversible which helps as well.

Had one put into the bedroom when Mr F was very poorly in the summer of 2017. It helped no end.
I still use it on warm nights and I love it.

I've been thinking for years that I will have a ceiling fan in my bedroom but I keep forgetting to look for an electrician.

Took 4 of them out of my house within a year of buying it.

Installed air-conditioning instead.

Best thing I ever did.

Choose the temperature you want instead of circulating the temperature you don't want.
